The film “Hastey Hastey” is not at all hilarious in fact the movie has an extremely confusing and aimless script. The presence of a few comic moments can not be ruled out but not a show that keeps you engaged for three hours or even two hours. The comedy is not situational but it is imposed. Her grandson who is a law student in Bangalore comes to Kolkata for vacation. His interest and questioning about her past brings back her memories of the past, her love life and all the emotions associated with them. Other casts of the film along with Jaya Bachchan are Om Puri, Mallika Sarabai, Rajit Kapoor and Neil Bhoopalam.

The songs, which are composed by Usha Uthup, are also mostly in English. They are pretty slow. You can feel how sad and emotion-filled the film is going to be just by listening to these songs.
