Hindi Song | Bachna Ae Hasino (2008)

The film Bachna Ae Haseeno is benefited from being a Yash Raj Banner film that came up with no expectations or pre-conceptions from the audience and the love stories depicted in the film is akin to today’s metro youth’s real life stories who confront some or the other kind of non-serious love in various ages of their life but the film depicts it in a illusory manner.

Hindi Song | Via Darjeeling (2008)


The film Via Darjeeling says that the people who gossip about a situation and make stories related to any suspicious event, are biased by their own life experiences in making assumptions about a incidents. The film also tries to depict the so called “Addas” culture that was mostly the coffee shops of Kolkatta where friends gathered and gossiped about an incident for hours. Performance of the actors in the film is fine but the audience feels that the end lacked a final note that makes the whole three hour drama fake.

Hindi Song | Singh Is Kinng (2008)


The Anees Bazmee’s film Singh Is Kinng is AkshayKumar’s film that is aimed to prove that Akshay can single handedly proves his excellence in comedy and the film tries to prove that Akshay is the “Kinng” of humor. The songs of the film are well- choreographed and Katrina is made to look gorgeous in the film. In the film, you have the stubborn rather over- confident, thoughtless “Singh,” full of many deficiencies, who is after his lady love, then happens the funny drama that makes him the “Kinng” and lots of entertainment, action scenes and striking shoot locations.

The music of the film has been composed by Pritam and lyrics are of Mayur Puri. The film has been promoted for its music and the audience has high expectations from the film. Like the film Namastey London, the film Singh Is King is expected to entertain audience outside India and the music of the film has been made in a way to make it a mass entertainer internationally.

Hindi Song | Money Hai To Honey Hai (2008)


After Partner, Govinda is getting back to his audience with the film Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. The Ganesh Acharya film has a few scenes that can make you laugh but in general the film lacks to be an entertainer and the script of the film has many loopholes and meaningless twists and turns are present , adding to the trash is the less spontaneous performance of the lead stars. The film will get viewers basically Govinda’s fans and people will watch Hansika doing a movie in a mature way but the movie will do a below average business on the box- office.

The music of the film has been composed by Nitin Arora and Sony Chandy and is average kind to listen.

The film Good Luck is about an aspiring singer Vicky and a girl Saba who is a PR head and she is very lucky. Saba gets everything in life but Vicky is extremely unlucky in most of his ventures. One day in a party Saba kisses Vicky and she mistakenly says good bye to her luck.

The music of the album has been composed by Anu malik and the lyrics of the songs are by Sameer. The film music also has Lucky Ali singing one song for the album but the overall impact of the album is mediocre.

Hindi Song | Kismat Konnection (2008)


The film Kismat Konnection shows onscreen chemistry of Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan through a romantic fun script but the script itself needed a lot of alteration to enhance the entertainment part in the movie and to eliminate the slow pace of the film. The film is similar to Hollywood movie Just My Luck having lead actors Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine, another hindi movie Good Luck is being made on the same script. The film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was for teens and Kismat Konnection is for youth above college ages.

Pritam Chakraborty and Aziz Mirza together make a fine romantic album of the year.

The film Ugly Aur Pagli is a script less comedy drama that generates humor in the first hour and rest of the movie has been dragged to the end on no script, by the efforts of the lead cast Mallika and Ranvir. Apart from the script the music of the film is also a let down and the film can not be compared to Pyaar Ke Side Effects.

The music of the film Ugly Aur Pagli has been composed by Anu Malik and most of the songs in the album are party songs having fun added to them.

The film Thodi Life Thoda Magic is a dull movie where the audience does not find any life, any magic or any logic. The film has problems with direction and script. The mismatching sequences and uncommitted story line that is unanswered by the director makes the film -a confused project.

Vinay Tiwari is the music composer for this film and the previous album composed by Tiwari was Strangers. The album doesn’t have chartbusters but a few songs will suit the storyline of the film and will go well with the movie script.

The film Mission Istanbul is basically a masala action movie with an imaginary script that lacks consistency and emotion. The script has everything about terrorism cruel killing of innocent people, kidnapping tourists, cheating by RAW agents, new agency linked to militants, Afghanistan, Turkey, U.S. President, hidden agendas but the depiction makes its unreal and the film couldn’t be impressive.

The music of the film has been composed by the group of composers - Anu Malik, Shamir Tandon, Chirantan Bhatt and Mika Singh. The music is mix of sounds from western and Turkish flavors.

Hindi Song | Mehbooba (2008)


The film Mehbooba is outdated but the film has some attractions that will make small towns audience to go to the theatres and watch the film that makes you remember the kind of movies that were being made some 15 years back. Even the multiplexes in metros may find audience for the film. The film will attract audience who loved movies like Maine Pyaar Kiyaa and repeatedly watched such movies for huge sets, costumes, cinematography, dances and family celebrations.

The best part of the film is that its music by Ismail Darbar is hearable and different. The lyrics of the songs are written by Anand Bakshi.

Hindi Song | Sarkar Raj (2008)


Sarkar Raj is pastoral political over-drama matched by high performance from Amitabh Bachchan in first place and Abhishek Bachchan in the second. The script of the film looks inspired from real life politics of Maharashtra and the costumes and makeup is taken from political idols of the state. The film starts slow but later gets notable and the script is compact, dialogues are impressive, and background score matches the script.

The film Summer 2007 is about unfocused energetic rich college students who are forced into a social cause of farmer suicide while serving their internship as medical students in a village. The film is similar to Rang De Basanti because it shows youngsters not interested in taking up serious life matters in the first half and when life makes them to face a severe social situation they end up in a life threatening situation. The film has an inspiring script with many unexplained loopholes.

The music is not very striking and performance of actors is a drawback for the intense film. Gourov Das Gupta is the composers of the music of the album Summer 2007 that has a few youthful party songs.

Hindi Song | Haal-E-Dil (2008)

The film Haal-E-Dil looks to be made without planning and thought. The film has many mistakes in its making, selecting actors and scripts. The attractions of the film are its songs and shooting locations. The film lacks a script, lacks performance from actors and lacks symmetry in sequences shown on screen. Worst is that this film is a romantic triangle love story and it demands a lots of perfect emotions to be depicted on screen.

The music of this film has been composed by Vishal Bharadwaj who took the help of best composers of industry, Pritam Chakraborty, Anand Raj Anand and Raghav Sachar, to give their songs to the album. Haal-E-Dil is the movie through which the daughter of producer Kumar Mangat will debut. It is expected that the composers must have worked hard for the music and the producer will market the product well.

Hindi Song | Mere Baap Pehle Aap (2008)

The comedy timings of the actors combination Paresh Rawal and Akshay Khanna match up like magic to create a few laughable scenes in the film "Mere Baap Pehle Aap" though the name of the film itself starts with signifying a culture low. The way it is called “Mere Baap”, it is never used in Hindi speaking families (not even in Hindi speaking western families) and may be Priyadarshan’s low knowledge of Hindi made him to accept such a title for his film.

The music composer of the film Hulchul, Vidyasagar has been given to compose songs for another comedy film of Priyadarshan that too has Akshay Khanna in lead role. The lyricist of the songs is Sameer.

Hindi Song | Humsey Hai Jahan (2008)


The fate of a film Humsey Hai Jahan can be imagined when a debutant Mashhoor Amrohi, does the script, direction and acting all himself with no support from established players in any area. The plot has been shot in Singapore and story of the film is about a boy Sameer who is a recovery agent and he gets caught in a monetary problem and to solve the money problem, he plans kidnapping a rich girl Esha for money and in the process he falls in love with the girl who is daughter of a millionaire.

The other starcast's of the film are Vishakha Singh, Govinda, Jackie Shroff, Kiran Kumar, A K Hangal, Mukesh Rishi, Mac Mohan, Shehzad Khan, Suved Lohia, Prem Chopra. The movie is less than OK.

Hindi Song | Aamir (2008)

The film Aamir is suspense thriller about a common man who is being used by an extremist group for destroying lives in Mumbai. The film has no lead actress or supporting casts and the cinematography is average, but the film appeals for the performance of TV actor Rajeev Khandelwal and for the courage to make such a movie that has no support from areas of film making like, dance numbers, romance, emotions, love, actions etc.

The album is about the debuting Television star Rajeev Khandelwal and the energetic impressive songs composed by Amit Trivedi. The film is a physiological thriller and music matches the subject. The lyrics of the songs have been written by Amitabh Varma.

Hindi Song | Love Story 2050 (2008)

The film Love Story 2050 is a more of a love story than a science fiction. The film has a few attractive special effects, actions, robots and dances from Harman but the overall script is unclear as it shows two different decades and imaginary year 2050. The film is influenced by Hollywood movies on science fictions and Roshan’s films. The time machine script has unreal and unjustified sequences that make the audience keep guessing of what was happening.

The music of the film has been composed by Anu Malik and Anu seems to have worked hard for the music of the film which makes the album better than his last few albums. The lyrics of the songs are of Javed Akhtar.

The film will get average collections on box-office and will attract teenager audience because it has been promoted to be a science fiction.

Hindi Song | Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na (2008)

Imraan Khan debuted from the film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, with a chocolaty boy image like his uncle Aamir Khan. This film has as expected teenage energy, college gang, love, comedy, romance, emotions and music that is lovely. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and directed by Abbas Tyrewala who turns director from this film.

Aamir Khan is busy promoting nephew Imraan Khan’s debuting movie but Imraan will have to compete initially with the debuting Harman Baweja, who is son of movie maker Harry Baweja and Harman will be seen in the movie Love Story 2050. The music of this film has been composed by A.R. Rahman. The music of Rahman is not a let down.
