Blue is a good album and has all in it to make a good impression at the music stands. In a way, the album comes at just the right time when there is quite some variety in store this Diwali. While All The Best has a rock base to it and Main Aur Mrs. Khanna boasts of a melodic outing, Blue practically mixes up genres and ensures at least four popular songs in 'Fiqrana', 'Chiggy Wiggy', 'Yaar Mila Tha' and 'Aaj Dil'.

The most awaited song of the year, 'Chiggy Wiggy', marks the beginning of the album. Why most awaited? Because it not only has Kylie Minogue singing a song for a Bollywood film but has her making a dance appearance while shaking a leg with Akshay Kumar. During the shooting of the song there was quite some frenzy created about her arrival in Mumbai. No wonder one expects nothing but outstanding in Abbas Tyrewala written 'Chiggy Wiggy'.

During last few years, there have been two subjects that have caught the fancy of filmmakers - one revolves around superheroes, the other is centered on sports based films. While Iqbal, Chak De India, Apne and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal have been successful and made a name for them, Say Salaam India and Meerabai Not Out have gone completely unnoticed. Now comes Victory where one expects at least one chartbuster anthem track, just as was the case in Chak De India and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, where the title track did the trick. Let's hear on the album to see if composer Anu Malik and lyricist Syed Gulrez succeed in doing so!

From a movie that has cricket as its theme, it is surprising to see a night club song at the very top of the album. 'Money Money' seems to be stuck in the 90s style of composition and one can safely assume that Anu Malik has got one of his old tunes from his backyard into Victory. Quite a worrying thought since one expected something far superior in the film's soundtrack. Thankfully, immediately arrives the 'Balla Utha Chhakka Laga', which is all set to be THE anthem track, especially in the current season when Indian cricket team is at its peak. With 'dhol' beats accompanying the song throughout a folk flavor to it, 'Balla Utha' is a chartbuster in the offering. Expect it to play not just during the cricket matches but even news channels whenever Indian cricket wins a match.

Hindi Songs | Vaada Raha... I Promise (2009)

There is a pleasant surprise in store though with the opening number turning out to be quite a serene outing. 'Kubul' is a quintessential love song with that 'vaadiyan' and 'bahaar' outing and one doesn't mind that at all. In fact as you listen to it a couple of times, it starts playing in your mind for a time much longer than the song's duration. A beautiful melody by Monty that stays Indian throughout its five minutes duration, it also boasts of some heartfelt rendition by Parthiv Gohil, Sharmista Chateerjee and Shell Hada. A good beginning that suddenly makes one get interested in the album.

One starts looking at the album with a different perspective the moment title song Vaada Raha hits its first notes. Composed by Toshi-Sharib who have composed some very good songs for Bhatts' Jashnn and Raaz - The Mystery Continues in the recent past, Vaada Raha is in fact one of their best. This Turaz written track stays on within the Bollywood parameters of a love song and still comes out trumps. Now if only this film would have been a fresh project, would have been adequately promoted and boasted of a true blue romantic jodi on screen, Vaada Raha, which is excellently sung by Toshi and boasts of some really good chorus in the background, would have gone a far distance. In fact this is one of those songs that one looks forward to hearing a countless number of times in the album and hence don't mind it all when it reappears in a 'remix version' and also a Sanjoy Chowdhury composed 'theme version'.

The moment one hears the sound of guitar with Shankar Mahadevan appearing behind the mike with some soft rendition, you know that you are entering a youthful zone. Add to that the gradual built up that the composer trio brings to the title song 'Wake Up Sid' and you know for sure that it's the sound of Dil Chahta Hai revisited. Does one mind that? Not at all, especially so with Loy Mendonsa's back up vocals interspersed well to add zing through the catch words - Wake Up Sid!

One would have thought that Shankar Mahadevan would have reserved the title song as the best in the album. However, there is a surprise in store with Clinton Cerejo bagging the best of the lot as he goes solo with 'Kya Karoon? '. A lively number that has 'youth appeal' written all over it, 'Kya Karoon? ' is urban and contemporary with the proceedings being innocent rather than taking an attitude route. A smooth sailing number that takes the listener through the mood of the protagonist who is still trying to explore his life, 'Kya Karoon? ' has Dominique Cerejo and Loy Mendonsa as the backup vocalists.

Music of What's Your Raashee? is quite interestingly done. For the first time in the history of Bollywood cinema (and perhaps even internationally), a song has been created for each of the 12 characters (played by Priyanka Chopra) that are differentiated by sun signs.

First to come is the title song What's Your Raashee? 'Pal Pal Dil Jisko Dhoonde'. A number with a jazz setting to it, 'Pal Pal' sees Sohail Sen coming behind the mike himself and he does a fabulous job in going along with the mood and setting of the song. Boasting of a lazy flow that gives the album just the right kick start, the song is about the lead protagonist (Harman) searching for that one girl who fits in the kind of image that he is carrying in his heart.

Yuvvraaj was released on 21 November, and it is liked a lot since most of the searches on this site these is is Yuvvraaj. It is produced and directed by Subhash Ghai and stars Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Zayed Khan, Boman Irani and Mithun Chakraborty. It's about relationship between the three brothers and the issue of inheritence after their father dies. I watched the movie myself, however I didn't like it much. I guess I was expecting too much beforehand. After it is a Subhash Ghai film and stars all big actors. Music of Yuvraj is composed by A.R. Rehman. I hope you like the songs. Cheers.

The songs, which are composed by Usha Uthup, are also mostly in English. They are pretty slow. You can feel how sad and emotion-filled the film is going to be just by listening to these songs.

It's finally here everyone. Music of Jodhaa Akbar is released and it is absolutely superb. A.R. Rehman definitely has picked his top tunes for this movie. The best songs have to be Jashn-E-Bahaara and Azeem-O-Shaan Shahenshah which have been the backbone of all the promo clips of the film.

Jodhaa Akbar is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and stars Hrithik Roshan as the Mughal Emperor Akbar and Aishwarya Rai as Jodhabai, the Rajput princess. It's tells the story of how Akbar married Jodhaa for political reasons but later fell in love with her. I can't wait to watch this film. It's set to release on 25 15 February. While you are still in the mood for patriotic songs (even though the previous one didn't have many) here is another one. 1971 is a film set during/right after (not sure :D) the 1971 war between India and Pakistan, and it is about the struggle of a group of Indian prisoners who are escaping the Pakistani camp. 1971 stars Manoj Bajpai, Chittaranjan Giri, Deepak D, Kumud Mishra, Manav Kaul and Ravi Kishan. The director of the film is Amrit Sagar.

Akash Sagar is the music director. Since I haven't had a chance to listen to the songs of 1971, I can't say anything about 'em. I hope you you like them enough to share them with others.

Madhuri Dixit is back! Aaja Nachle marks the return of our favorite Bollywood actress. Madhuri hasn't appeared in any movie since 2002 (Devdas and Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam) and she's back with a bang. At least makers of Aaja Nachle think so. The film's other leading casts include Ranvir Shorey, Irfaan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kunal Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna, Divya Dutta, and Vinay Pathak. The film is directed by Anil Mehta.

Music of Aaja Nachle is directed by the Merchant brothers, Salim and Sulaiman. I haven't had a listen to any of the songs yet. I'm hoping it's good, because Madhuri definitely deserves a comeback that's perfect from every aspect. I'm really looking forward to see more of her.

Apne is a film directed by Anil Sharma and stars Dharmendra and his two sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, alongside Katrina Kaif and Shelpa Shetty. It's the first film to feature Dharmendra and his to sons together. It's a family film, probably with lots of tears and sorrows and hopefully not with a story already told. We've had too much of that.

Music of Apne is composed by the widely love and hated director, Himesh Reshammiya. I'm personally in the 'hate' pole in regards with his music, and voice. It's a typical Himesh album, with a lot of the songs in his own voice. I do think Dekhoon Tujhe To Pyaar Aaye could have been much better if it was sung by someone else. Actually all songs could've been better, but that particular song has potential in my mind. But thanks to Himesh, I don't like it. I hope you are from 'love' end of his fan spectrum and enjoy this album.

This is the movie Big Brother, starring our very own angry-super-powerful Sunny Deol opposite the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra. The film is directed by Guddu Dhanoa and music is by Anand Raj Anand and Sandesh Shandilya.

I did like the first of the Jag Lal Lal Lal's, however, not the rest of the songs. I didn't dislike them by any means, but don't think so high of them either. They are just mediocre, which is to be expected of such a masale-dar film (I hope I used that term correctly).

In this film Shahrukh Khan plays the role of the coach of national hockey team, who takes his team in to World Cup. It is directed by Shmit Amin. Vidya Malvade also plays a major role in film, I think that of a hockey player who dreams of playing for the National Team. Just a guess. Chak De India is one of the major movies of the year under the Yash Raj Movies banner, and it's produced by the Chopras. BTW, this is SRK's first muslim role and accroding to IMDB.com, he grew the beard in order to look more muslim-like.

The music directors of Chak De are Salim and Sulaiman Merchant. I personally like the songs from this film, except the parts sung by SRK himself ;) They have done a good job. I hope you like it too.

Big B is in love again in love Cheeni Kum with someone a lot younger than himself, Tabu. In fact, in the film Tabu's father(Paresh Rawal) is 6 years his junior. Seems like an interesting story, and hopefully the debutant director R. Balakrishnan does a fine job of telling it.

Music of Cheeni Kum is composed by Ilayaraja. The whole album has a nice slow feel to it, which is great to see after all the fast paced and loud ones released in the past few months. The title songs is very nice and playful. The other songs are pretty good too. I'm sure you're gonna like this one.

Darling is on of the upcoming films of director Ram Gopal Verma, starring Fardeen Khan, Esha Deol and Isha Koppikar for the lead roles. There was so much buzz around RGV' Sholay remake (now knows as RGV Ki Aag) that we didn't even notice he was making Darling. Looking forward to see what he's done in this film.

The music composer of Darling, unfortunately, is Himesh Reshammiya. I don't know anything else about the film, but I definitely believe RGV's choice of music director is kinda rotten. Sorry Himesh fans. Some believe Himesh has a very wide fan-base. If so, the only value he's bringing to the table is in the sales (which is very important for some), but nothing artistic. However that has been compensated for by a very nice Adnan Sami song that I think you shouldn't miss.

Dhamaal is a film by director Inder Kumar. It is a comedy film starring our favorite actor Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Aftabh Shivdasani, and Ashish Chaudhary. It's good to have films about silly topics with silly jokes every now and then. But too many of them can be pretty annoying, like those so many films of the last year about blind, deaf and dumb characters.

Anyway, music of Dhamaal is composed by Adnan Sami, he has also lent his vocals to a couple of the songs. Unfortunately this album is one of his worst works so far. He's made some great songs in the past. Let's hope that trend doesn't go down.

These short stories are directed by six directors, i.e. Sanjay Gupta, Apoorva Lakhia, Meghna Gulzar, Hansal Mehta, Jasmeet Dhodi and Sudhir Mishra. The list of the cast for Dus Kahaniyaan is even longer. I'm not going to list every name here. Just know there definitely is one or more of your favorite actors in this film.

To keep the tradition alive, the producers have also hired more than one music directors for this film. They are Gourav Dasgupta, Anand Raj Anand, Bappi Lahiri and Shafqat Ali Khan. Once again there is something for everyone the following 3 sets of songs. For me the most interesting ones seem to be Gulzaar's poems. One of the reasons I've been hesitating to post DK's songs is that there are just too many. I could've posted three albums instead of it, but since so many people want it, I had to ignore that feeling. Anyway I hope you enjoy these songs.

Eklavya - The Royal Guard is another of this year's Amitabh Bachchan starrers. Other casts alongside Big B include Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Vidya Balan, Jimmy Shergill and Sharmila Tagore. It's a film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the man who previously brought us great movies like Parineeta (producer and writer), Munna Bhai M.B.B.S (producer and writer), Mission Kashmir (director, producer and writer) and many more hits. Looking at Mr. Chopra's successful history, one would automatically expect Eklavya to be a fine movie as well, and that is exactly the kind of words posted about it all over the internet. It's all praises, and nothing else.

Music of Eklavya is created by Shantanu Moitra. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to enjoy the songs yet (or despise them for that matter), so I would love to know your thoughts about them. With all that said, I hope you like the following songs. Enjoy!

Halla Bol is director Raj Kumar Santoshi's latest project. Starring Ajay Devgan, Vidya Balan, Pankaj Kapoor, and Sayali Bhagat, Halla Bol is a film about the struggles of an actor in the Indian film industry and what he faces at every stage of his career.

Music of HB is composed by Sukhwinder Singh. Muscially there's nothing new and out of the ordinary. The songs sound pretty familiar. However, I really find Sukhwinder Singh's voice very refreshing. It seems like he really is passionate about music and that is quite apparent in how sings. I have to say the best song of this album's got to be Jab Tak Hai Dum.

In Hattrick Rimi Sen, Kunal Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar and Dany Dengzongpa are brought together under the direction of Milan Luthria to create a comedy movie set during the 2007 Cricket World Cup. The most promising performance of film, I think, is Nana Patekar's, who did a similarly stunning job in Luthria's previous film Taxi No 9211. But that's yet to be seen.

Once again Pritam has done a superb job with this album. With the fast paced and high energy songs of Hattrick, Pritam is determined to get even the laziest of us to get off our butts and get moving. The songs I enjoyed most is Rabba Khair Kare, it's really cool. Do let me know what you think of this album.

Ltd. which I think is a fine album once again. I love the songs Jaane Hai Woh Kaha and Pyaar Ki Yeh Kahani. Though not lyrically exceptional, these songs are pleasant to listen to. Specially Pyaar Ki Yeh Kahani's got this special cool sorta vibe.

This film is directed by Reema Kagti and stars a host actors including Amisha Patel, Kay Kay Menon, Shabana Azmi, Sandhya Mridul, Boman Irani, Diya Mirza, Abhay Deol, Minissha Lamba, Raima Sen, Ranvir Shorey, Karan Khanaa, Vikram Chatwal, Naseeruddin Shah and Arjun Rampal for the major roles. Our second entry of 2007 is Just Married (also called Honeymoon on many news websites) starring Fardeen Khan,Esha Deol, Bikram Saluja,Perizaad Zorabian,Yashpal Sharma Sadia Siddiqui,Satish Shah and Kirron Kher. It is director Meghna Gulzar's second film. Just Married is supposedly a comedy movie about a newly wed couple played by Fardeen and Esha (similar to the 2003 Hollywood film with the same title starring Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy).

Music of Just Married is directed by Pritam Chakraborty who has made some great music in the past. This album sounded pretty good too at the first go. I hope you like it as well.

Music of KLSH is composed by Pritam. There are quite a few good songs in this album. I personally like It's Rocking sung by Alisha and Gumsum Hai Dil Mera sung Sonu Nigam. There's been quite a lot of buzz about Pritam plagiarizing other artists' works. Let's hope there's nothing like that in this album, and that it's all his own work.
